Whiskey Cocktails G-I

Gloom Lifter

2 oz. blended whiskey
½ oz lemon juice
¼ oz sugar syrup
½ egg white

Fill mixing glass with ice.
Add blended whiskey, lemon juice, sugar syrup and egg white.
Shake.
Strain into chilled cocktail glass.

Henry Morgan’s Grog

1½ oz. blended whiskey
1 oz. Pernod
½ oz. dark rum
1 oz. heavy cream
ground nutmeg

Half fill mixing glass with ice.
Add whiskey, Pernod, dark rum and heavy cream.
Shake.
Pour into chilled rocks glass.
Sprinkle top with nutmeg.

Horse’s Neck

2 oz. blended whiskey
ginger ale
1 lemon, peeled

Peel lemon in one strip, creating a spiral effect.
Set peel aside.
Pour blended whiskey into Collins glass.
Add ice.
Drop in the lemon peel as a garnish. (The spiral lemon peeking over the rim of the glass is what gives this drink its name – Horse’s Neck)
Top with ginger ale.
Add a few drops of fresh lemon juice.

Houston Hurricane

1 oz. blended whiskey
1 oz. gin
1 oz. white crememde menthe
3 tbsp. lemon juice

Fill mixing glass with ice.
Add blended whiskey, gin, white crème de menthe and lemon juice.
Shake.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Hunter’s Cocktail

1½ oz. rye whiskey
½ oz. cherry brandy

Fill rocks glass with ice.
Add rye and cherry brandy.
Stir.
Garnish with a cherry.

Ink Street

1½ oz. blended whiskey
¾ oz. orange juice
¾ oz. lemon juice

Fill mixing glass with ice.
Add whiskey, orange juice and lemon juice.
Shake.
Strain into cocktail glass.
Garnish with an orange slice.
