Frozen
Cocktails
These cool concoctions are easy, convenient
and refreshing and require little more than a blender, ice,
fruit and liquor. The recipes often give an amount of ice
to add (approx. 3-4 oz.) but you can add as much or as little
ice as you need to achieve the desired consistency.
Punch
Cocktails
Punches are an easy and effective way to keep
your friends and guests happy and refreshed while still allowing
you the time and freedom to enjoy yourself. They can be made
quickly and easily and you can even make them early and then
store them in a refrigerator until the right moment.
Whiskey Cocktail
Essentials
There are many different types of whiskey. The key difference lies in the types of grains used and the distillation process. In order to mix a good cocktail, knowledge of the difference between these different types of whiskey is crucial.
Whiskey Cocktails
Blended whiskey comes from mixing any of the many types of whiskey with a neutral grain spirit and is therefore much less expensive to produce. The majority of cocktails that use whiskey as a prime ingredient will call for blended whiskey.
Bourbon Cocktails
Kentucky whiskey, also called Bourbon, is an American whiskey made from approx. 2/3 corn with the rest of the mixture coming from either wheat or rye. Included in this list of cocktails will be drinks using Tennessee whiskey and Rye whiskey.
Canadian Whisky Cocktails
Canadian whiskey is made in Canada and is often “blended.” Many feel it is a smoother and sweeter whiskey than its counterparts.
Scotch Whiskey Cocktails
Better known as simply Scotch, one of the key differences and defining characteristics of Scotch is the use of peat in the production of it. Single malt Scotch does not lend itself very well to cocktails so the drinks listed here will mostly call for blended Scotch whisky.
Irish Whiskey Cocktails
Irish whiskey shares many similarities with Scotch, but does not use peat in the production process. This results in a sweeter, less smoky taste.
